Bhuvenesh Rajamony is with the School of Manufacturing Engineering in the University Malaysia Perlis. He obtained B.Eng. in Mechanical Engineering from T.C.E.,the University of Madurai, in 1974 and M.Sc.Eng. in Mechanical Engineering with Machine Tools Engineering from P.S.G. , the University of Madras in 1976. He received his Ph.D degree in Mechanical Engineering with Manufacturing Technology from V.J.T.I. the University of Bombay, India, in 1988. Obtained post graduate D.I.E. in Industrial Engineering in 1991 from the University of Bombay, India. He has supervised large number of graduate engineering students and post graduate students in his areas of interest. He was reviewer of many research papers and examiner for post graduate thesis of different universities. He is a recognized Examiner and Research Guide in the field of Production, Manufacturing, Mechanical and Industrial Engineering .
DR.Bhuvenesh has been actively involved with teaching and research work for the last 35 years. He worked with a number of universities in India, U.K. and Malaysia. After working with the Department of Production Engineering, VJTI, Bombay University, India for 19 years, he was invited by Govt. of Malaysia to join the University MARA and responsible for opening the CNC laboratory and training the UiTM students with Advanced Manufacturing modules. After working with MARA for 5 years from 1994 to 1999 , he joined with the faculty of Mechanical Engineering the University of Sheffield for two years 1999-2001. Later he joined with University of Science Malaysia USM for three years 2001-2004. He is currently with the University Malaysia Perlis UniMAP, School of Manufacturing Engineering from 2004 to date.
Dr.Bhuvenesh is a Life Fellow member of the Institution of Engineers F.I.E. India, a Fellow member of the Institution of Plant Engineers F.I.I.P.E, Life member of Indian Society of Manufacturing Engineers M.I.S.M.E., and a senior Life member of Indian society for technical education M.I.S.T.E. and Charted Engineer C. Eng.
Dr.Bhuvenesh works in multiple areas of Advanced Manufacturing: Computer Integrated Manufacturing, Flexible manufacturing systems, CNC machines, Material handling, Industrial engineering and Ergonomics. He has supervised and provided consultancy for many companies like Larsen&Toubro, Voltas, Mahindra, PAL, Telco and TATA in his specialist areas of Special purpose Machines, Advanced Manufacturing, Quality Management and Industrial Engineering. He has written and published more than 70 technical papers and reports in these areas in the international, national journals and conference proceedings. He has been the principal investigator of many manufacturing projects with CNC machines, metal cutting and industrial engineering projects with different industries and Universities. In UniMAP, he is responsible for setting up the Advanced Manufacturing Laboratory with EDM machine, Plasma cutting and TIG welding. He is also responsible for setting up the Advanced Flexible Manufacturing Laboratory with Robotics, Material Handling and the Ergonomics laboratory. Completed two funded research projects, one for Science Fund and another for Fundamental Research Grant from the Ministry of Science and Technology, Malaysia. There are many research students working with his research team. Received many research awards.
